I have taken in an older male congo grey that has a picking problem, and we are determined to do the absolute best that we can for him.  We're working hard to improve his diet as well as keep him occupied with foraging, and are very hopeful we can break his cycle of self-abuse.  Giving him a buddy or mate in the future is also a possibility, so if you are searching for a good home for your grey, we may be able to help.

I still have three handfed kids available from Cinnamon and Sprite's second clutch of 10 kids.   To view the diary for this clutch, please click HERE.  These kids were HANDFED and though they haven't been handled much lately they are still nice birds.  Would be super for breeding because their Mom is a real "fertile Myrtle"!  The three remaining are: #117, 118, 119 and all are females. These kids were $50. each, cash, but I need them gone to make room, so make an offer.  No shipping.

(The picture below was taken on 8/27/17.)

I posted a video to you tube of these 3 taken Sept. 24th.  Check it out!

I am also offering one female parrotlet and a pair of parrotlets for sale.

The first offered is a blue female.    She looks a bit scruffy right now, and has been with a male but they just don't like each other, so I've decided to keep the male and sell the hen. I'm asking $100. for her.  She was born 8/4/16, and was handfed but not handled after weaning as she was meant for breeding.  Picture was taken 8/27, and she's not as scruffy now.

The pair of parrotlets I am offering are a proven pair, but they have not gone to nest for the past year, despite being given a nestbox on several occasions.  They may be a bit too old.  They also may have one last hurrah in them if moved to another location, but who knows.  I'm only asking $100. for the pair because they *may* not breed again.  They are a pretty pair, though, and were great parents for me when they did breed.  Picture below taken  8/27/17.  When I took this pair to the bird show, they did not sell but did spend the whole day with the male constantly feeding the hen!  I set them up with a box while they are being quarantined from the show, so they may or may not be available at any given time.  If they go to nest, they will be for sale afterwards.

Ziggy and Paco, the Timneh Greys, hatched out 3 chicks on Nov. 13, 14, and 18, 2016!

Kids were pulled for handfeeding on the 23rd of Nov., and you can see their "diary" here.

Update 2/10/17: Picture above shows the kids on 2/7/17.  Gorgeous!

**********

UPDATE 10/19/17: All grey eggs were infertile and have been removed now.  Hopefully the pairs will go again and have better results!

My price for handfed Timneh Greys is going up to $1295. with the next babies.  In addition to the usual DNA sexing being included, they will also be tested for PBFD, Polyoma, Chlamydia, and Avian Herpes (Pacheco's). They will only be sold fully weaned and come with DNA sexing certificates, samples of their foods, a toy, a "Hatch Certificate," and lots of love! I also am happy to answer questions and do what I can to help you through any rough patches you may encounter, whether it's a day, a week, or ten years after you get your baby.

DEPOSIT INFO

REGULAR DEPOSIT POLICY ON TIMNEHS:

I do not take deposits until birds have been DNA sexed. Once that happens the results will be posted here
and a deposit of $425. will hold your baby till he is completely weaned and ready to go home.
When you pick him up, you will be expected to pay the balance of $870. in cash.

Be aware that deposits are non-refundable should you simply change your mind,
so you should be totally committed before making a deposit!!
You will of course receive a refund if I am unable to sell you the bird due to a problem on my end.

Deposit checks will only be accepted from the time DNA results come back up until about 3 weeks before babies are ready to go!
After that I'm afraid it is a CASH ONLY policy. You will be responsible for any fees incurred due to a bad check.

Also, please note that the bird MUST BE picked up within one week of being ready unless other provisions are made, or the deposit may be forfeited!  Alternatively, boarding fees will be incurred (cost depends on type of bird)!  If you may be unable to pick up your bird when it is ready, please do not place a deposit on a bird!

The usual guarantee also applies, so please read it!
You will be required to sign a copy of it
before leaving with your bird!

If I am allowing deposits on other birds, the policy is the same as listed above. The deposit amount will be roughly one third of the total price, with the balance due in cash at time of pickup.

Also, if you are interested in one of my babies...
PLEASE don't email and say "how much?"  or "how old?"
as that will simply tell me you have not really looked at this page
or looked at their "diary" or you would know these things
and many more!
We put a lot of time and effort into raising the best babies we can, and just because you want the bird does not mean you are entitled to be their new parent.
I want to know what you're like, and what your home is like,
what your experience with parrots is,
and to feel that you will do your best to give my baby
a permanent home and a good life.  This especially applies to the baby Greys.  Smaller birds adjust very well to being rehomed, but greys are smart and sensitive birds and if you are not truly commited to giving them a forever home, you really should be looking for a different type of bird.

Please know that I want more than a sentence or two. If you feel that is intrusive, then I'm sorry but we would both
be better off if you found another bird.

Thank you for understanding.

Peek-a-boo...                                                    Baby sees you!

A Troubling Tale

Recently something came to my attention that really bothers me.  One of the Timneh babies I raised and sold about three years ago was dropped off at a pet shop because the bird was, for lack of a better description, flipping out repeatedly.  He was flapping and going nuts and in the process maiming himself and becoming bloodied.  I'm not getting as much information as I'd like, but since the store is well-versed in bird care I can only assume they are doing what they can and have tried various things to help this poor bird.  Last word I had was that the situation was unchanged.*

GUARANTEE:

Guarantee on Weaned Birds: Provided you quarantine any birds you purchase from me, and maintain them in a reasonable manner, the following guarantee will be honored:
You must take the bird to a vet (at your expense) within 48 hours of purchase. If a life-threatening problem is found, and one that is determined to have been in existence before purchase, return the bird promptly with the vet's report, and I will be happy to refund your money or replace the bird if  a comparable bird is available. I will not be responsible for any veterinarian bills incurred, whether for diagnosis or treatment.

This is the ONLY guarantee I offer, so please be sure to check your bird over carefully before purchase.  I enter into any transaction in good faith and knowing that the bird has been healthy while in my care.  However, you have to realize that there is always a risk involved when dealing with live animals.

Guarantee on UNWEANED Birds: Because of the risks involved in handfeeding, I will honor NO guarantee whatsoever on birds sold that are not weaned.  There are too many variables, and it is always a possibility that an unweaned bird may become suddenly ill and/or die, regardless of the experience of the handfeeder.  The money saved in buying an unweaned bird should be carefully weighed against the risk on the buyer’s part.

You will be asked to sign a copy of this guarantee when you acquire one of my birds, stating that you have read and agree to the terms of the guarantee.
